17 Noyabr Beynəlxalq Tələbələr Günümüz mübarək!
Happy İnternational Students' Day!
International Students' Day is a ceremony of the student union and this day is celebrated on 17ᵗʰ November of every year. The main origin of this day was related to German Nazi storming in the University of Prague in 1939 and movement against the occupation of Czechoslovakia by nazis. As a result, 9 student leaders of this movement were killed and over 1200 students were sent to concentration camps, at the same time all Czech universities and colleges were closed completely. After this revolution, the 17ᵗʰ of November was the first marked as International Students' Day in 1941 in London by the International Students' Council.
Student Life in Azerbaijan...
In order to compare student life in Azerbaijan with other countries, we decided to meet international students and take an interview about their student life in our country.
Let's start ☺️
Our first guest is Aminath Suneetha from Maldives. Yes, you read correct, Maldives. She is a master student of ADA University. Now Aminath studies at the Master Business Administration (MBA) and she had got a scholarship before she came here. Aminath's hobby is read books and decorate a cake. She also tasted our national food such as gutab. She would like to be in Ateshgah.
- Aminath, why did you choose this country, this university?
- Due to scholarship opportunity, I have chosen this university as well as my bachelor degree was related to business administration. When I decided to get a master degree, I had focused on only to get a high education, knowledge, not a job opportunity.
Our second question is about the most important value at the university. Aminath thinks that there are many international students study here, the atmosphere is very friendly and you can be easily adapted this environment. Furthermore, there is not any discrimination between international and local students. For me, the most important value is a close relation among students, on the other word, warm environment at the university. In comparison with my previous university, I concentrate on not only theory, but also I improve practical skills for business management.
One of the popular questions is about future plans ☺️
- Aminath, imagine that today is 2016 and you graduated from ADA University. What will you do?
- So, my plan is work at the Finance & Treasury such as finance executive and I think to work in this sphere during next 5 years.
The next international student is Suzyika Nyimbili from Zambia. He got bachelor degree (study in Education) in capital city Lusaka and he is also a master student ( Public Policy) of ADA University. His hobby is writing especially poetry and reciting.
Suzyika considers that Azerbaijan is a new country for me and as you know, most students prefer to study in the UK, New Zealand maybe Turkey.
- However, I am interested in new action, new places, new lifestyle, therefore, I decided to choose this country. It is true that I had heard about it and watched videos about here. Nevertheless, after came here my experiences were different almost.
When we ask him "what is the most important value at the university?"- he smiled ☺️
- It is difficult to say. I can not say really. Probably grade. Students focus on grades in ADA University, because community requires it. Actually, they should focus on gain knowledge, make society better, learn skills and different things. Today, I do not have any idea about Ph.D., however, it might be related to any developed sphere. Hopefully, I am going to gain a lot of knowledge from MPP and going to develop my country.
Now, we pass from Zambia to Afganistan. Our next guest is Ahmad Sharig. Although, he studied at the business management, Ahmad chose Public Policy for master degree in ADA University. When we answer a question, why did you change your position ? - he said that job market is competitive in order to excellent employment, you should have different skills and you should find yourself in the various fields.
Ahmad thinks that the most valuable significance is learning experiences, different values, friendship. He appreciated his spare time listen to music, watch documentary movies, and drawing. When we discussed future plans, it is clarified that Ahmad has already his Ph.D. field and he wants to concentrate on water conflicts. At the same time, he thinks to work at the agencies of the UN. Perfect :P
Our the last question was about Azerbaijani people. When we ask this question, Ahmad immediately said 3 words: Friendly, Hospitable, Warm ☺️ By the way, he has already written an article about Azerbaijan.
Just a minute! Now we have an interesting trip to Italy. Yes, She is Sara Ottaviani from Italy. Her bachelor degree is related to international relations as well as she has gained scholarship in order to study MADIA program (Master of Arts in Diplomacy and International Affairs) in ADA University. Sara's choice was by chance for master degree. She has a little story. Actually, her aim was to study in Afganistan, however, when she did not find any opportunity, she decided to look through scholarship programs by alphabet rule. Finally, she gained a scholarship program in Azerbaijan. Then Sara applied and enrolled this university.
She thinks that the most valuable thing is appearance and teaching. In comparison with her previous university, Sara firmly believes that ADA University has really perfect opportunities in order to study.
- On the other hand, education is so difficult and intensive. Sometimes you can confuse system, however, I try to be adapted for easily understanding. At the present, I do not have any future plan for a Ph.D. degree. However, probably it will happen and I would like to focus on politic system and international affairs of Afganistan, as well as, I think to study for Ph.D. in Afganistan. In Baku I don't have more leisure time, nevertheless, when I was in Italy, I was spending my waste time for sport, especially swimming and climbing.
At the end of the interview, our last guest was Akin Mok from Southern Korea. He is an exchange student and will return his hometown in December. It is an interesting fact, Akin's teacher was from Azerbaijan in Southern Korea and he suggested that you can study in ADA University for one semester. Apart from this, Akin also know Turkish language and little Azerbaijani, even he spoke with us in Turkish. It was really perfect.
Due to studying at the business administration, he also considers continuing this field for master degree. He just only concentrates on business administration, therefore, Akin likes to read books such as economic and philosophic
Finally, We thank all friends in order to participate in our interview. As faces of the world's students, we proud of You and wish success in the future.
Dears, keep in mind, Education is the license to future and tomorrow belonges those who prepare for it today!
